GRAMER
- “Where” de “what” gibi bir soru kelimesidir. Mekan sorar.
- “here” burada anlamında olup yakın şeyler için, “there” orada anlamında olup uzak şeyler için kullanılır.
- "s" eklemeli çoğul yapma kuralının dışında bu kurala uymayan çoğul yapma yolları da vardır. Child-children gibi. Belli bir kurala tabi olmadıkları için ezberlenmelidir.
- Son harfi "x" veya "s" olan kelimeler çoğul yapılırken "s" yerine "es" eklenir. Box-boxes, bus-buses gibi.
- Aşağıdaki “where” kelimeli soru kalıbındaki isimlerin önünde “the” bulunmaktadır. Çünkü nerede olduğu sorulan şey malum ve bilinen bir şeydir.

GRAMER
- İngilizcede “edat” adı verilen birtakım küçük kelimeler vardır. Cümlede önemli görevler üstlenirler. Bunlardan iki tanesi “in” ve “on” edatlarıdır.
- “in” kelimesini Türkçeye çevirirken genelde “içinde” kelimesi yerine kısaca “-de, -da” eki ilave edilir. “sepetin içinde” yerine “sepette” gibi. Sonuçta aynı anlam verilmiş olur.

GRAMER
- Sıfatlar şeylerin sahip olduğu özellikleri anlatırlar. Küçük olan bir kuşun küçüklüğü onun sahip olduğu bir özelliktir. Bu özelliğini anlatan “küçük” kelimesi de bir sıfattır.
- İngilizcede sıfatlar çoğunlukla Türkçede olduğu gibi nitelediği kelimenin öncesine gelir. “eski ev” – “old house” gibi.
- Sıfatlar çoğul yapılmaz.
- “near” ve “under” kelimeleri, “in” ve “on” gibi birer edattır. Konum bildirirler.
- “and” bir bağlaçtır. Bağlaçlar birbirinden ayrı yargıları birleştirirler. “The books is new” ve “The bag is new” cümleleri iki ayrı yargıdır. Bu iki cümleyi “ve” bağlacı ile tek bir cümlede birleştirerek “The book and the bag are new” yapabiliriz.
- “X is on the table – X masanın üzerindedir” gibi, bir şeyin konumunu bildiren cümlelerde “X”in yerine “what” soru kelimesini getirerek cümleyi soruya dönüştürebiliriz. “What is on the table?” – “Ne masanın üzerindedir?” gibi.

GRAMER
- “orada” anlamındaki “there” kelimesi yanına is veya are getirilirse “vardır, mevcuttur” anlamına gelir. “there is a book in the room/ there are books in the room” gibi. Bunlara “there is-there are cümleleri” denir.
- Daha önce gördüğümüz “bir” anlamına gelen “a” kelimesi, okunuşu sesli harf (a,e,i,o,u) ile başlayan kelimelerin önüne geldiğinde “an” şeklini alır. Anlamda hiçbir değişiklik olmaz.
